Elegance and simplicity were the themes for this gorgeous summer day. It was such a pleasure to coordinate the beautiful wine country wedding for Carolyn & Teddy.
Their sunny August day was just the right mix of family and fun. Scholls Valley Lodge hosted their closest family and friends for the weekend in its rolling hills of grape vineyards.
Unique Fantasy Inspired Wedding Features Whimsical Florals at Scholls Valley Lodge
Jessica Shamma and Joshua Glickman met via a dating app in New York before eventually finding their way to Oregon. The couple wanted a colorful, whimsical wedding that culminated in the ultimate dance party. They took inspiration from “The Lord of the Rings” and mingled lights and wildflowers throughout the grounds. The two also brought together elements of her Catholic roots and his Jewish heritage to create a beautiful blend of love and culture.
A Small and Intimate Wedding at Scholls Valley Lodge
From the very beginning, I knew I would love documenting this day. Katie and Jake had their hearts set on a clear intention: Have a small, simple wedding filled to the brim with quality family time.
In her initial email, Katie wrote: “Our vision is to have photographs that document the day, rather than super staged and posed photographs.” Are you kidding? Music to my ears! My approach to documenting couples is first and foremost about living in the moment. I will guide and direct when it’s needed. But for the most part, being present with those who matter most is not only how you get the best photographs, but it’s also how you have the best experience. I loved that Katie and Jake were all about this!

A Timeless Outdoor Wedding
Karlee and Colby’s wedding was a beautiful and romantic outdoor wedding in Portland Oregon. They had a very specific vision for their day which was simple, yet elegant. Their venue, Scholls Valley Lodge, was outdoors with beautiful old oak trees in a vast lawn, and sprawling views of golden fields and bright summer flowers surrounding. Karlee specifically wanted the location to speak for itself, as its beauty was remarkable all on its own. They value quality and the finer things in life, but minimal and modest over being extravagant. They really desired for that to be carried through, and I think they achieved just that. Nestled atop Hillsboro's rolling farmland, Scholls Valley Lodge provided an exquisite canvas for Alyssa and Ryan, a couple who shared a profound appreciation for wine and a love story that began on the dance floor. From our first encounter at Lady Hill Winery, where their devotion was palpable, to their enchanting wedding ceremony set against the backdrop of sprawling oaks and undulating hills, every moment was imbued with an undeniable magic.

It was so much fun working with Kate and Matt on their special day. Since the bride is in the "business" she was prepared with her ideas and vision from the get go and knew as soon as she saw it that Scholls Valley Lodge was the perfect place to bring her wedding vision to life.
Lush Nature-Inspired Hillsboro Wedding
Carlie & Nicholas brought a verdant vibe to Scholls Valley Lodge for their nature-inspired wedding.
Scholls Valley Lodge in Hillsboro proved to be the perfect locale, providing naturally beautiful scenery that they could complement with a neutral palette, twinkling lights and wildflowers. In a twist on tradition, Carlie and Nick had their respective wedding parties standing opposite them—with Carlie’s party behind Nick and Nick’s behind Carlie—so that they could see those most important to them as they said, “I do.”
A "Marry the Terrys" Wedding
Some weddings stay with you long after the last dance. Max and Kelsey's celebration at Scholl's Valley Lodge was exactly that kind of day and for me, it was personal from the very beginning.
I first crossed paths with Max at his sister's wedding, long before he and Kelsey had even met. So when this now-engaged couple reached out to have me document their big day, I was absolutely thrilled.
