Owners
Emily Clyburn
An Oregon native, Emily has long been inspired by the outdoors and meaningful gathering spaces. She and her husband first discovered Scholls Valley Lodge when they were married here in 2016, and the venue quickly became close to her heart. In 2018, she joined the team in a small part-time role while pursuing a career change. Today, Emily leads the Lodge with passion and a bit of organziation from her engineering background. She enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests and creating ties with the surrounding community. When not working, she can be found eating ice-cream or exploring the outdoors with her husband and 2 young kids.
General Manager
Reservations ManagerKailey Cruz
Born and raised in the Scholls community, Kailey has known the Vial family for most of her life, with some of her earliest memories at the property dating back to elementary school. She joined the Scholls Valley Lodge team in 2021, originally giving tours before stepping into her current role as Reservations Manager. Over the years, she has enjoyed growing alongside the property and helping create a welcoming experience for guests from their first inquiry through their stay. Kailey especially enjoys the operational side of the Lodge, including organization, event logistics, and finding ways to help things run smoothly behind the scenes. Scholls Valley Lodge also holds a special place in her personal life, as she and her husband, Pablo, were married at the property in 2022. One of her favorite parts of working at the Lodge is seeing guests create memories with their friends, families, and coworkers in a place that has meant so much to the local community for generations. Having grown up in Scholls herself, she loves the history tied to the property and hopes every guest feels comfortable, welcomed, and at home while they are here. Outside of work, Kailey enjoys spending time with Pablo and their daughter Kamilla, camping, being outdoors, and trying new places to eat together as a family.

A long time resident of the property and son-in-law of the owners, his strong family ties create a passion for his work.

Guest Services Associate
As a Guest Services Associate, I have the unique privilege of welcoming visitors to the same family property where I grew up. Having spent much of my life here, I enjoy sharing the rich history, stories, and traditions that make this place so special. I love helping guests create meaningful and memorable experiences while offering a personal perspective on the property’s heritage and the generations of family history behind it. My passion for hospitality comes from genuinely enjoying connections with people and helping them feel comfortable, valued, and at home. Whether I’m answering questions, sharing historical insights, or helping guests make the most of their visit, I take pride in creating positive experiences that leave a lasting impression. Outside of work, I am pursuing my education in massage therapy, where I am developing skills centered around wellness, healing, and client care. These studies have strengthened my appreciation for helping others and providing compassionate service. When I’m not in class or at work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my pug, exploring new interests, or enjoying quality time with friends and family. I am grateful to combine my love for people, history, and service in a role that allows me to share a place that has been such an important part of my life.
